IAM Belagavi offers a one-year Diploma course in housekeeping. The course aims to develop theoretical as well as practical knowledge related to maintaining the comfort and cleanliness of a particular establishment. It provides them with intellectual challenges in the hospitality sector to train them in the field of Housekeeping procedure, lighting, and color scheme, planning a room layout, hotel-keeping, and cleaning science. IAM Belagavi wants students to develop future management skills, personal qualities, administrative skills, production skills, and applicability required in such sectors.
The housekeeping course duration is 12 months which is divided into 7 months of theory and practical classes, 5 months internship at star hotels. The classes are held from Monday to Saturday for 6 hours a day. Currently, there is only one batch, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The course is also inclusive of various practical sessions by Professionals and Industry experts. Candidates have to clear two exams held every 6 months and a final exam to get two certificates of the course. The course also offers a five months internship program to students in India as well as overseas.
