IAM Belagavi offers a one-year hotel management diploma course in food production culinary. The course aims to develop abilities in students to think logically, read critically, and communicate clearly. It provides them with an intellectual challenge in the hospitality sector to train them on the rapidly changing external business environment and its effect on the industry. Through the educational foundation, IAM Belagavi wants students to develop future management skills, personal qualities, administrative skills, production skills, and applicability required in the hospitality and hotel industry.
The food production culinary course duration is 12 months which is divided into 6 months of theory and practical classes, 5 months internship and 1-month exam. The classes are held from Monday to Saturday for four to five hours a day. Currently, there are two batches, morning 09:00am to 01:00pm and afternoon 01:00pm to 05:00pm. The institute is planning to start its third batch in the evening soon. The course includes alternated day practical sessions where candidates are taught different recipes. Candidates have to pass two tests held every six months and then the final exam to get a certification of the course. The course also offers a six months internship program to students in India as well as overseas.
